"Champion" Tree Care was derived from the frequent unexpected error made by our customers who misspelled our family's last name, Campion, when paying by check. We hoped that our customers were making a statement about the quality of service they received, because 'champion' described our aspirations when meeting their needs.

Champion describes a winner of first prize or first place in competition; the one taking place in the northwest suburbs to provide you with quality tree care. It also describes a company that shows marked superiority in providing services and is a militant advocate for, and defender of, the urban forest in our service area. A company that will provide you with an honest estimate of your property's needs and deliver the finest services for a reasonable price.

We do that by 'Talkn' Trees' with you. Our URL, letstalktrees.com, invites you to take the time to meet with our Arborist and share your concerns, desires, and expectations for the trees and shrubs that bring such value to your property. We draw on the latest research in arboriculture to address the threats to your trees, nurture the healthy stock on your property, remove trees that are no longer viable, and plant the most desirable new trees to enhance the quality of your portion of the urban forest.

The two principals in our family business are brothers, James F Campion and JP Campion, book ends of a large Wisconsin family, whose ancestor arrived in Milwaukee in 1830. Grandsons of the last home farmer, they grew up with a strong affection for the land and its ability to sustain a rich and rewarding life.

James spent part of his high school and subsequent years working for Libby, irrigating the fields surrounding a canning factory with the waste water before pursuing his interest in forestry and joining Asplundh. Subsequently, he provided arborist services to several other firms before forming his own company, JF Campion Tree Care in the late 90's.

JP was at the first book end in the family and pursued a career in education and ultimately retired after 40 years as a school district superintendent and reform team administrator with Project GRAD Atlanta. He joined James in this new venture in 2009 and the new name was chosen to represent a new venture. JP serves as the CEO of the company and provides administrative and management services for the team in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

It is our goal to exceed your expectations when you seek our services. If we make a mistake, we will make it right as you define the solution. If we cannot meet your needs, we will let you know up front and make a recommendation so you can choose a more appropriate firm.

Our crew members are skilled and committed to adding value to your property. All of our employees are fully insured, legal residents of Illinois, and have been vetted by the Secret Service, which has permitted us to maintain the Chicago property of the President and his family.
