Expert Tree Care in the Chicago Area since 1985 |
Kenilworth is located approximately 17 miles north of downtown Chicago. It is the newest of the eight Chicago suburban communities fronting on Lake Michigan, commonly referred to as "the North Shore", and is the only one developed as a planned community.
Joseph Sears, the original developer, possessed definite ideas about how a village should be planned. Streets were platted to maximize the availability of sunlight in each home, utilities were placed underground, no alleys or fences were permitted, construction standards were high, and there were large lots and paved streets. A village whose center lies in the family should also have a church and a school, which Sears assured by donating the necessary land.
Village ordinance prohibits work done with loud machinery that disturbs the peace and quiet in the Village before the hours of 7:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Village requires a permit under Sec. 34-12 of the Village Code. There is no fee for removal for dead, diseased, hazardous or good practices removal.
