TREE CARE IN PARK RIDGE

The city of Park Ridge is a residential community with tree-lined streets, outstanding schools, a library and numerous parks. The suburb of 37,775 residents is located 15 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. It is a unique small town just east of O'Hare Field.

The Director of Public Works is Wayne Zingsheim. The department is responsible for all urban beautification in Park Ridge, including forestry and grounds maintenance.

The City Forester helps residents with insect and disease problems affecting trees, shrubs, turf grass and flowers. The City also has a reforestation program which shares the cost with residents for planting 2, 2.5 and 3 inch diameter trees. The City contracts with the Suburban Tree Consortium for this program.
